Update:  My mom died on January 11, 2014, but I'd like to leave her picture and bio on this page because she so loved her job and her family at Paws Inn.  Mom enjoyed befriending the animals and their people as they crossed the Paws Inn threshold.  She considered her last months at work as a kind of "therapy" while she bravely underwent chemo.  We have received many kind cards and letters from her Paws Inn friends--thank you for remembering her.  -KM

Jean is originally from Rockland, MA but spent over 20 years as an Air Force wife.  She moved to Calabash following her husband's retirement in 1978 and has worked at the Animal Hospital since 1983.  She became the manager at Paws Inn upon its opening in 1985.  Jean has always loved all sorts of animals and shares her home with three beagles named Snoopy, Belle, and PJ. Jean has three children and three grandchildren who know her as "Grammy".
